It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post.¬† I’ve been sitting down meaning to write one for days now but everytime I sit down to get started, I get distracted by the weird and wonderful adverts which pop up on my screen and like a cat having a pretend mouse on a piece of string dangled in front of its eyes, I suddenly find my day has disappeared looking up the latest skin care innovation (I really have found a weird and wonderful one this time which I might just try ūüôā¬† Watch this space…….)

I have so many new products I’ve been trying out, I barely know where to begin.¬† Literally, I have lots of exciting reviews to share with you all so it’s been really difficult to know which one to start with but thought I should start with a product I’m sure lots of you have heard about and maybe tried…….

Boots No7 Laboratories LINE CORRECTING  Booster Serum

(Currently £38.00 for 15ml but with the 3 for 2 offer, works out at £25.33 for 15ml)

After reading lots of exciting news about the launch of this new No7 Serum, I was in a Boots store just a couple of days after it’s launch and headed immediately to the No7 counter to get my hands on some.¬† So what is it and does it work?

Boots describe it as a clincially proven, targeted booster serum and is their most concentrated line correcting serum.¬† It’s been designed to be applied directly to lines and wrinkles, to deliver fast, visible results where you want it most.¬† And with it’s 7 X concentration (7 X more Matrixyl 3000 plus then their previous clinically proven serums) it’s proven to reduce the appearance of even the deepest, most stubborn lines and wrinkles.¬†¬†

So how does it work?

Amongst other ingredients, it contains 2 peptides (Palmitoyl tripeptide-1¬† and Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7) which boosts collagen production, stimulates skin repair and promotes your skin to make more of it’s own hyaluronic acid.¬† It also contains Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester which has skin cell/muscle relaxant properties which can prevent lines and wrinkles.

It does make me smile that as Boots are advertising this as “THE NEW NON-INVASIVE WRINKLE SOLUTION”, that they have decided to package this serum in a container which is made to resemble an injection.¬† ūüėČ

How do you apply it?

This serum is a non-fragranced, light, slightly gel like cream which should be applied every morning and night directly to lines and wrinkles before the rest of your skin care regime.   This is a targeted product and is not meant for all over your face.  (When I spoke to the No7 Assistant as to how to use it with my other skin care products she advised that it should come after thinner, more watery products but before heavier creams/lotions/oils).

Did it work for me?

I hate my brow and forehead lines and I’ve been using it twice a day as instructed for just over a couple of weeks now and although the Boots Website says

“….In one week women saw a visible reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. After two weeks women saw visible improvements in six targeted wrinkle areas……”

I can’t say that I have noticed a dramatic difference yet, HOWEVER I do think they may actually be starting to look softer in appearance.¬† Rome wasn’t built in a day and to really see if this product works it’s going to take longer than a couple of weeks to see if it really does make any major difference to my deep wrinkles.¬† I do like using it, it sinks in to my skin quickly and I do feel a “tightening” on the areas I apply it to shortly after using it.¬† So I am very happy to keep using it and I think once I’ve finished both of the containers I bought, I’ll really be able to see if I can see an improvement to those darn lines.¬† I’ll let you know!
